2 big traffic advisories this week in South Jersey

Drivers down the shore will need to keep an eye out for some potential changes to their commutes this week.

From Normal to Flash

We'll start in the Wildwoods where, as the calendar gets ready to change from September to October, many (but not all) traffic signals will change from normal operation to flash for the next several months.

Simply put, as the weather turns colder, there's not enough traffic not only in and around the Wildwoods but in many Jersey shore towns, to justify having signals operating normally, so local governments change them to flash mode.

Road Work in Galloway Township, NJ

Meanwhile in Galloway Township, a big road construction project is happening this week.

Beginning today, September 30th, through Friday afternoon, October 4th, East Moss Mill Road between Pitney and Old Port Republic Roads will be closed 24 hours a day for a road construction project.

Detours are available by using Quail Hill Boulevard or traveling through Port Republic.

Police are reminding motorists to observe the low speed limit on Quail Hill Boulevard if they'll be using that as a detour.

EHT bridge reopening soon?

Finally, it appears that work on a small bridge on Somers Point-Mays Landing Road in Egg Harbor Township is almost done.

The Lakes Creek Bridge has been closed for several months as the structure was rebuilt, however, residents have noticed that many of the permanent construction barriers have been removed and the road has been repaved.

The county has not released any official information on when that bridge may be reopening.
