Absecon, NJ, police issued 61 speeding tickets in 4 hours Friday morning

The Absecon Police Department says their officers were out on the the White Horse Pike/Absecon Blvd. to go after aggressive and speeding drivers as part of a targeted campaign sponsored by the Atlantic-Cape May Regional Highway Traffic Safety Office.
During a period of four hours, Absecon officers enforced a total of 61 violations for speed-related offenses.
Authorities say their primary goal was to reduce serious injuries and fatalities on a notorious stretch of highway that has seen countless fatal accidents over the years.
