
Man Admits to Striking Victim With Hammer in Atlantic City Store Attack
Atlantic City, N.J. — An Atlantic City man has pleaded guilty to beating a man over the head with a hammer outside a convenience store.
On Monday, 42-year-old Lamar Parker pleaded guilty to third-degree aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. His agreement calls for a four-year state prison sentence.
Hammer Used in Violent Assault
The Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office says on February 22nd, Atlantic City police responded to the Congress Avenue area for a report of an altercation involving a hammer.
Officers arrived to find the victim bleeding from the head, holding a convenience store door closed from the outside. He told officers the man inside was the one who struck him. Authorities made contact with Parker inside the store and detained him.

Surveillance Video Captures Hammer Beating
Surveillance footage obtained from inside the store showed Parker approaching the victim and striking him in the head with a hammer multiple times.
Sentencing is scheduled for August 19th.
