Atlantic City, NJ, Airport & Spirit Air Review [Opinion]

Many people complain about Atlantic City International Airport and Spirit Air.

Not me. I’m a fan and I’ve always been a fan. Here is my objective review for your consideration.

HERE’S WHY …

I believe that the Atlantic City International Airport is well managed and we are very fortunate to have Spirit Air for flights to Orlando, West Palm Beach, Florida and elsewhere.

On the first flight to any destination, I prefer to take the earliest available flight. It’s like gaining an extra day away and rarely will you experience a flight delay because it’s the first flight for the pilots and crew.

SPIRIT AIR GETS A BAD RAP

My experience is that they are usually on time or run ahead of schedule. Official statistics back up this comment as well.

SPIRIT AIR MADE US A $ 500 OFFER

Most recently, our 6:00 a.m. escape to Orlando, Florida was a sold out flight. This is often the case. We were offered $ 500 each to give-up our seats on the plane.

The offer included availability for a later flight same day or the next day.

If you have flexibility, what a wonderful way to get the equivalent of a potential second getaway.

CONVENIENCE

You simply can’t beat the convenience factor. It is easy to take for granted how nice it is to have an airport and carrier so close to home.

Many, likely most people around the country are not within 15 minutes of their airport.

REWARDS PROGRAMS

I enjoy and take advantage of the Spirit Air $ 9 Fare Club, Mastercard and all of the associated benefits, including:

• Discounts on air fares.
• Discounts on seat and bag fees.
• In flight food and beverage and other discounts.
• Earning points for future free or discounted flights.

CONCLUSION:

It’s always easy to complain, however, consider just how inconvenient it would be if we didn’t have Atlantic City International Airport and Spirit Air here in the Atlantic County region.
