Big Names Who Recently Visited Atlantic City, New Jersey [Photos]
I have been thinking about the significant number of famous people who have recently visited Atlantic City. Some are now late, great stars. Here are just some.
First, There Was The World Famous Steel Pier
The original Steel Pier opened in 1898 on the Boardwalk in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
The opening act was Annie Oakley.
The fact of the matter is, that you were not considered a real star until you appeared at Steel Pier.
Eddie & The Cruisers — Michael Pare
Michael Pare appeared in Atlantic City in March, 2023.
He was incredibly engaging and discussed inside information about the two Eddie & The Cruisers movies.
Pare played the lead role of Eddie Wilson.
These movies have a phenomenal fan following.
Here’s a bonus photo (directly below) of the recently departed Michael “Tunes” Antunes. He was a beautiful man, who visited the Atlantic City area often over many years.
“Tunes” appeared in both Eddie & The Cruisers movies.
Also appearing in the photos below are my wife, Margie, Don Marrandino, “Tunes” and John Cafferty from John Cafferty & The Beaver Brown Band.
The Legendary Tony Bennett
Tony Bennett performed often in Atlantic City over many decades.
Tony passed away on July 21, 2023 at the age of 96 years old.
He performed until shortly before his death.
Donny & Marie Osmond
Above are Donny & Marie Osmond, my twin brother Don Hurley and yours truly.
Donny & Marie perform often in Atlantic City and possess a longevity that is very rare in show business.
They are both incredibly kind and nice people.
Kelsey Grammer
Kelsey Grammer loves Atlantic City. I have often written and said on-air that Kelsey Grammer should be an official Ambassador for Atlantic City.
Grammer is very unaffected by his star power.
Grammer visits Atlantic City many times each year.
Carl Lewis — Was World’s Fastest Human
Pictured above with Paul D’Amato, is Carl Lewis.
Carl Lewis won gold medals in record 4 Olympic Games.
He was the world record holder in the 100 meter, 209 meter, 4 x 100 meter relay and long jump.
Carl Lewis is also a really nice man, who is unaffected by his success.
Lee Greenwood — “I’m Proud To Be An American”
Lee Greenwood performed his iconic song, “I’m Proud To Be An American” at the Atlantic City Airshow.
He is one of President Trump’s favorite singers.
Evander “The Real Deal” Holyfield
Evander Holyfield appeared at the annual New Jersey Broadcasters Hall of Fame event in Atlantic City several years ago.
This is when the dynamic Paul Rotella was President & Chief Executive Officer of The NJBA. He brought Holyfield to his event in Atlantic City.
Tom Cantone — The Man Who Literally Wrote The Book
Tom Cantone is a legend in the Atlantic City and Connecticut gaming jurisdictions.
Cantone is the President of sports & entertainment at Mohegan Sun Gaming.
Cantone is the author of “Book ‘Em.”
Cantone will be publishing his second book; which will be debut at our 18th Annual “Hurley in the Morning” Charity Dinner & Silent Auction at Resorts Casino Hotel Atlantic City.
Our Guest of Honor & Key Note Speaker Will Be The Legendary Tony Orlando
Tony Orlando loves Atlantic City and has performed there often over the many decades.
Tony is generously coming out of retirement to appear at our annual charity dinner on October 2, 2026 at Resorts Casino Hotel Atlantic City.

But, let’s end it here for now.
To quote Don Hurley … “The bigger they are, the nicer they are.”
