Demolition Begins on Abandoned Black Horse Pike Building in Egg Harbor Twp., NJ
An abandoned building that has been a big eyesore in Egg Harbor Township for years is crumbling to the ground today.
From around 2011 through 2013, a church operated in the small tan building at 6024 Black Horse Pike, although that structure was there long before then. Based on Google Maps images, by 2015, it was boarded up and not much has happened there since.
Until today, that is.
Demolition Gets Underway Thursday Morning
As of early Thursday morning, that building is being demolished to make way for a new car wash that will sit on 6.25 acres of prime real estate between Aldi and M&S Produce, right at Tower Avenue.
We tried to get a peek inside that partially demolished building to see what it was like...
Rapidly Expanding Car Wash Chain
Spark Car Wash currently has about a dozen locations across Pennsylvania and New Jersey, including spots in Sicklerville and Mount Holly. Twelve new locations are shown on the coming soon section of their website, including that one in EHT and another on the White Horse Pike in Hammonton, across from the former Arena Oldsmobile dealership.
Spark Car Wash locations feature what you would expect at a mega car cleaning facility, including a number of subscription car cleaning services, lots of vacuums, and more.
There's no word on a timeline for when the EHT Spark Car Wash will open, but at this rate, it won't be long.
7 Brew Coffee Also Being Built
Meanwhile, right next door, work is moving at an insanely fast pace on what will be the latest location of 7 Brew Coffee.
We took this picture on January 7th, and since then -- in just a matter of days -- a mostly pre-fabricated building has already been erected on that lot.
