Egg Harbor Township Man Sentenced to 15 Years for Drug Charges
Mays Landing, N.J. — An Egg Harbor Township man is headed to prison on multiple drug charges.
On Tuesday, 34-year-old Shamir James was sentenced to 15 years in state prison for first-degree distribution of cocaine, two counts of first-degree possession with intent to distribute cocaine, first-degree maintaining a narcotics production facility, and second-degree financial facilitation of criminal activity.
Search Warrants Lead to Major Cocaine Seizure
The Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office said on June 29th, 2026, multiple law enforcement agencies, including their office, the Atlantic County Sheriff's Office, the FBI, and the Egg Harbor Township, Hamilton Township, and Northfield Police Departments, participated in the execution of search warrants on James' home on Lacosta Drive in Egg Harbor Township, an off-site storage facility, and his vehicles.
In total, police seized over 151 ounces of cocaine and over $187,000.00 in cash and account holdings.
James Admitted Using Home to Prepare Cocaine
In a recorded statement to police, James admitted to using the kitchen of the Egg Harbor Township home to prepare, package, and process cocaine for distribution. He also admitted to using the storage unit to store packaged cocaine for distribution at the street level.
James has been held in the Atlantic County Justice Facility since his arrest.
