Charges & Identities Revealed In Mays Landing, NJ, Fatal Crash

The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office has revealed the charges filed and identities of those involved with yesterday’s fatal car crash in Mays Landing, New Jersey.

Tragically, Two Innocent People Have Died

Yesterday's head-on car crash motor vehicle caused the deaths of Robert Barr, Jr., 54, and Alice Stilwell, 67, both of Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey.

The fatal car crash at approximately 7:30 a.m., on Route 50, near Third Street in Mays Landing, New Jersey.

A Stolen Vehicle Is At Fault In The Fatal Crash

The occupants of that vehicle are Nayshaun Brown, 18, of Atlantic City, New Jersey and three juveniles, whose identities have not been revealed.

All 4 persons have been charged, based upon the results of an initial investigation, with information presently available to law enforcement.

The Present Charges — Which May Be Suplemented When/If More Information Becomes Available Include:

Conspiracy to commit second degree aggravated assault (bodily injury while joyriding).
Conspiracy to commit third degree joyriding
Conspiracy to commit second degree eluding.
Conspiracy to commit second-degree theft by receiving a stolen motor vehicle.
(Brown only): first-degree employing a juvenile in the commission of a crime.

Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office Has Revealed

Brown's charges were placed on a complaint warrant; he is currently held at the Atlantic County Justice Facility. One juvenile was ordered held and another released by a Superior Court Judge this morning. A third juvenile remains in custody pending a judicial determination.
The investigation, which is a cooperative effort between the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office, the Hamilton Township Police Department and the Office of the Attorney General, is ongoing. Notification of additional charges and information will be provided when appropriate. Residents are reminded to lock their cars and keep key fobs safely inside their homes.
