
NJ Cold Case: Troopers Seek I-78 Fatal Shooting Suspect
New Jersey State Troopers are asking for help as they continue to investigate the death of a woman along a busy highway six years ago.
Authorities said on March 31st, 2020, troopers were called to a report of a shooting at Exit 6 on the eastbound side of Interstate 78 in Greenwich Township, Warren County.
Fatal Shooting Happened Along I-78 Exit Ramp
Based on a preliminary investigation, at about 5:57 that morning, a 45-year-old woman from Easton, PA, was traveling eastbound on I-78 and exited at Exit 6 toward Greenwich Township. While on the roadway, her vehicle was overtaken by the suspect's vehicle. The suspect exited his vehicle, fired several rounds at the woman, causing significant injuries.
Suspect Fled Scene in Dark-colored Sedan
After the shooting, he fled into Greenwich Township, driving what was believed to be a dark-colored, newer model, full-sized sedan.
The suspect was described as a white man with longer hair, wearing dark-colored clothing at the time of the shooting. The following composite sketch was created to show how he may have looked on the morning of the shooting.
