Lane Johnson Expected to Start This Sunday and That’s Great News
When Lane Johnson announced his return this week after taking time away to deal with Depression and Anxiety, many Eagles fans were hopeful that would translate to his return on the field. At Friday's Press Conference, Nick Sirianni confirmed that officially Lane is back:
This is great news to get the Offensive Line as close to it best version as possible on the field. While Jordan Mailata performed well at Right Tackle, he is still a better option at Left Tackle than Andre Dillard and Lane Johnson is one of the best Right Tackles in the NFL. Putting those two powerful athletes on the ends of the Offensive Line next to the future of the Eagles Landon Dickerson and Jack Driscoll at the Guard position next to Jason Kelce, this should be the best we have seen from the front five protecting Jalen Hurts since Week Two of this season.
Lane Johnson is 31 years old, a Three-time Pro Bowl selection and was named to the NFL All-Pro Team for the 2017 season. He is still playing at a high level and is a great teammate that the players are happy to have back in the building and on the field:
Some of the strongest people and best human beings we know all have personal issues they have to work through daily; Lane Johnson is an example to us all that just because you are going through problems does not mean you cannot excel at your job. The Eagles are an example of what happened when good people support each other; Lane Johnson's teammates believed in him because they know how hard he works to be the best he can be for them. Eagles Nation is happy to have big number 65 back on the field for the game on the road versus the Las Vegas Raiders!
