We are about one month away from the 2021 NFL Draft, so the mock drafts continue to be tweaked as new information comes out.

For ESPN's Mel Kiper Jr, his latest mock draft has the Eagles landing an offensive weapon for quarterback Jalen Hurts.

This time the wide receiver is the same weapon Mel saw heading to Philly in his last mock draft - LSU's Ja'Marr Chase. In his first mock draft back in late January, Kiper had the Eagles selecting Alabama wide receiver Jaylen Waddle.

The Eagles are another team that didn't have the cap space to be spenders in free agency, and this could be the ideal scenario for general manager Howie Roseman and new coach Nick Sirianni. They don't have the pressure to take one of the top four quarterbacks and let him compete with Jalen Hurts. Now, they can evaluate Hurts in 2021 alongside an elite wide receiver in Chase, then figure out next offseason whether Hurts is the guy around whom they want to build their team. This is a roster that has several holes, and Philadelphia has a long ways to go until it is back to being a Super Bowl contender. Chase would be a great addition to get this franchise back on track after a rough 2020.

As Kiper Mentions, the Eagles land an ideal scenario for their young coach and quarterback, by adding a play-maker like Chase. With Hurts already in place, the Eagles don't need to reach for one of the quarterbacks and should have their pick of the litter of offensive weapons including, Kyle Pitts, DeVonta Smith and Waddle.

In this new mock draft, Kiper has Pitts going the pick before the Eagles, to the Bengals at No. 5 and Smith the pick after Philadelphia at No. 7. Waddle went No. 8 to Miami, who he has moving back after a trade with the Carolina Panthers.
