Peter Laviolette will get to coach Shea Weber after all.

The former Flyers head coach was hired by the Nashville Predators on Tuesday morning, taking over for a fired Barry Trotz.

Laviolette becomes just the second head coach in the less than 20 year old Predators franchise.

Laviolette last coached in Sochi, Russia as an assistant for head coach Dan Bylsma for Team USA.

Laviolette won the Stanley Cup in 2006 with the Carolina Hurricanes then took the Flyers to the Stanley Cup in 2010, losing to the Blackhawks in six games.

Philadelphia fired him just three games into the 2013-14 NHL season.

"I love the nucleus of this team, starting on the back end with two of the best players at their positions in defenseman Shea Weber and goaltender Pekka Rinne, in addition to a solid group of dependable veterans and talented, rising young talent," Laviolette said via The Tennessean.

Laviolette also brings along Kevin McCarthy who was also fired by the Flyers this past season.

Laviolette has a 389-282-25-63 overall record.
