The three Philadelphia schools played their opening round games of the NCAA Tournament on Friday and here's a synopsis of what happened.

Villanova with 86-56 win over 15 seed UNC Asheville

Daniel Ochefu led the way with 17 Points, 10 Rebounds, and 3 Blocks as Nova handles their business to move onto the Round of 32.  Mikal Bridges chipped in with 12 Points and 4 Rebounds off the bench for the Wildcats.  Up next for Villanova is number 7 seed Iowa who won in Overtime over Temple.

Temple falls in Overtime 72-70 to 6 seed Iowa

Despite Quenton DeCousy scoring 26 Points and grabbing 8 Rebounds the Owls could not stop the persistent Iowa Hawkeyes.  Overtime came to an end with Iowa's Adam Woodbury put back score sealed the loss for Fran Dunphy's team.  Temple's Senior Jaylen Bond finished the game with 14 Points and 15 Rebounds in his final collegiate game.

Saint Joseph's Hawks survive to win 78-76 over 9 seed Cincinnati

Isaiah Miles three pointer ended up being the game winning basket as Cincinnati's two handed dunk as time expired was waived off after official review.  Miles finished the game with 19 Points, 7 Rebounds, and 2 Blocks while DeAndre Bembry led the Hawks in scoring with 23 Points after going 8 for 15 shooting from the field.  Next up for St Joe's is number 1 seed in the West Region Oregon.
