One of the oldest events on the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA), the Atlantic City Classic in 1986 was the first iteration of what has become a tradition on the LPGA Tour: The ShopRite LPGA Classic will host the 38th edition of the tournament May 29th to 31st.

The 144-woman field will experience some changes for this year's edition of the tournament. After 13 years, the ShopRite LPGA Classic new presenting sponsor is Wakefern Food Corp, which has opened the door for new opportunities for the ladies who participate in this year's event.

In 2025, 34 players crossed the million-dollar earning mark, a new record for the LPGA Tour.  With eight women winning more than $2 million on tour last year, the world of women's golf is one of the most financially beneficial in the female sports landscape.

New Benefits at 2026 ShopRite LPGA Classic

ShopRite has announced new initiatives that "Reinforce (their) Commitment" to Women's Golf, and the annual ShopRite LPGA Classic presented by Wakefern.

For the second consecutive year, the entire 144-woman tournament field competing in the ShopRite LPGA will receive complimentary lodging accommodations. The players will also be competing for a $2 million purse, a 14.3 percent increase over last year's tournament.

“We believe in empowering women athletes and creating opportunities for them to succeed – on and off the course. We are also committed to supporting the people and communities that make this tournament so special." said Wakefern President Mike Stigers in a press release.
"Through our partnership with the LPGA Tour, the ShopRite LPGA powered by Wakefern brings those values together – helping players compete at their best while giving back to communities in meaningful ways. We’re proud to continue building on that tradition as we look ahead to the 38th edition of the tournament this May."

Four women's golfers have been selected for this year's Team ShopRite, a group of ladies who embody a love for the game of golf along with a commitment to give back:
