The Ocean City Boys basketball season was seemingly coming to an end, trailing 37-18 as they entered the half.

After trailing by 19 points at halftime against Cherry Hill West, the Red Raiders began to scratch and claw their way back, trailing by just 10 after three-quarters of play.

Many teams exert so much energy to make their comeback, that they are never able to get over the hump, and take the lead.

It was Ocean City's defense that became the star of the show, turning up the intensity, and allowing just seven total points in the second half. However, they still needed that big bucket to put them over the top and it was provided by senior Charlie LeBarre.

With the defense doing their job, and with time running out on the Ocean City season, LeBarre had just enough energy left to lift the Red Raiders over Cherry Hill West, to advance to the South Jersey Group III semifinals on Thursday.

LeBarre came streaking down the middle of the lane and connected as time expired.

"It's a shot that I practiced a million times in my driveway, LeBarre told Jersey Sports Zone. The fact that it actually happened is unreal to me."

Here is the final play:

Ocean City was led by Kori Segich, who had 16 points, while LaBarre added 12 points, including the game-winner.

The No. 2 seeded Red Raiders will take on third-seeded Camden Eastside in the semifinals.
