A great breakfast sandwich comes in many forms, you load your favorite bagel up with egg, cheese, your favorite meats, and other toppings. The possibilities are endless!
And maybe with family and friends gathering for the holidays, you are looking for a great shop near you to grab the best breakfast sandwich after your holiday party.
So we looked at NJ.com recent list of the 25 best breakfast sandwiches in New Jersey to see which ones from our listening area (Atlantic, Cape May, Cumberland County) in South Jersey made the list.
Only two made the list, according to NJ.com writers Peter Genovese and Jeremy Schneider.
Who serves the best breakfast sandwiches in the area?
Coming in at No. 23 on the list is the Farm sandwich with bacon at Beach Plum Farm in West Cape May.
There’s no more beautiful breakfast or lunch spot in Cape May County than Beach Plum Farm, in West Cape May. Curtis Bashaw and Will Riccio started the farm in 2008; since then the farm has produced 100-plus kinds of fruits and vegetables as well as chickens, eggs and Berkshire hogs. The farm provides meats and produce to such Cape May restaurants as The Ebbitt Room, Blue Pig Tavern and Louisa’s Cafe, all of which appeared on our list of Cape May’s 11 greatest restaurants. The grounds are gorgeous; place an order inside at the kitchen, and it will be brought to your picnic table. The menu is not expansive; items may include a BLT with herb mayo, sausage gravy and biscuits, and the first-rate cowboy chili with cornbread.
Beach Plum Farm is located at 140 Stevens Street in West Cape May.

In the Top 10 breakfast sandwiches in the state is the Pork roll egg and cheese on plain bagel from Avalon Coffee Co. in Avalon and Rio Grande.
The biggest bagels in the great bagel state of New Jersey? Maybe ones at bagels at Avalon Coffee. They’re monstrous, and outrageously soft and chewy besides. No wonder the coffee shop placed high on out list of the state’s best bagels, ranked. A pork roll egg and cheese on a plain bagel proved near-perfect; it would have placed high on my list of the state’s 20 best Taylor ham/pork roll egg and cheese sandwiches if I had sampled it earlier.
Avalon coffee has multiple locations to grab one of these amazing breakfast sandwiches.
Here is the full menu and options from Avalon Coffee.
So those two were the only ones recognized by NJ.com, but I think there are plenty in the area that deserves to be recognized.
