PFF: Josh Sweat, Milton Williams Best Fits in Free Agaency
The Philadelphia Eagles still have work to do this season, but that doesn't mean teams that haven't eliminated aren't putting their offseason plans together.
With Philadelphia making a deep playoff run, their free agents will become attractive pieces on the open market this spring.
Pro Football Focus put together their list of the best landing sports for the Top 15 defensive free agents with two Eagles landing on the list, Josh Sweat and Milton Williams.
Sweat, who has had a solid bounce back season, comes in ranked as the No. 10 overall free agent this offseason, with Tennessee the best fit according to PFF.
A natural landing spot could be Tennessee, where he’d join his younger brother, T’Vondre Sweat, who just put up a 76.2 overall grade in an impressive rookie year.
Sweat totaled 41 tackles and eight sacks for the Eagles this season.
Next up, PFF sees a reunion between Williams and former Eagles defensive coordinator Jonathan Gannon in Arizona.
It wouldn’t be surprising to see Gannon target familiar faces from Philadelphia, like Milton, to transform the pass rush in 2025.
Per PFF, Williams was one of the most dominant interior defensive lineman this season, 'earning a stellar 90.6 pass-rush grade — second only to Chris Jones at the position.'
On Wednesday Mel Kiper posted his first mock draft at ESPN.com and had the Eagles taking a defensive tackle to replace Williams, should he leave in free agency.
