As the calendar flips to December, the Eagles have five weeks left to get to the finish line and are still trying to hold off Minnesota and Dallas for the No. 1 overall seed in the NFC.

The team has some injuries and while they should be getting Dallas Goedert, Avonte Maddox and C.J. Gardner-Johnson back before the playoffs, they could look to add another piece to the puzzle before the playoffs.

At least according to one national NFL pundit, Mike Florio from Pro Football Talk who tweeted the following:

Florio says "watch the Eagles" when it comes to a landing spot for free agent wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr.

The Eagles have reconstructed some contracts during the season and have some cap space to make if an injury occurs.

So does this make any sense?  Wide receiver Quez Watkins left in the third quarter of the Eagles win over the Tennessee Titans with a shoulder injury.  When asked about the injury after the game, Watkins told reporters he should be fine.

When head coach Nick Sirianni was asked about Watkins on Monday, he said: "Nothing that we think is real serious but we'll see and we'll have more for you on Wednesday."

Today is Wednesday, so we'll see.  Otherwise adding Beckham doesn't seem to make much sense.

Beckham is a wild card right now.

He tore his ACL in February during the Super Bowl after catching caught two passes for 52 yards and a first quarter touchdown, but there are questions on when or if, he could return.

The 30-year-old has met with Buffalo, the New York Giants and Dallas, but still does not have a team and is still a free agent.

In 2022 Beckham played in 14 games, catching 44 balls for 537 yards and five touchdowns.

Could Beckham be a difference maker?  I doubt it, there are just too many questions surrounding when he might be ready to play.  Its doubtful that even if Watkins can't play the next few weeks, that Beckham can step in right away and be ready to play.

If Watkins is out, the team can plug in Zach Pascal. Thanks but no thanks on Beckham.
