The Philadelphia Eagles have plenty of free-agent options out there to explore if they want to try and improve their team.

With the legal tampering period starting on Monday, the team will begin the process of trying to build their roster back to Super Bowl contending status. One area they have a decision to make is at running back, where incumbent D'Andre Swift is a free agent.

Swift rushed for a career-high 1,049 yards and scored five touchdowns in 2023, catching a career-low 39 passes for 214 yards.

So would the Eagles look to bring Swift back, or look for an upgrade at the position?

According to Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News, the Eagles could be a team that is a suitor for Giants running back Saquon Barkley's services.

"And while it’s still possible Barkley could return to the Giants after testing the waters, it’s more likely that he will be playing somewhere else in 2024.

"Sources view the Baltimore Ravens, Las Vegas Raiders, Chicago Bears, New England Patriots, Houston Texans and Philadelphia Eagles as some primary potential suitors who have the resources, need and interest to possibly sign Barkley."

Furthermore, ESPN's Adam Schefter added while appearing on NFL Live: "Let me just float this out there, how would Saquon look in Dallas? How would Saquon look in Philadelphia? How would Saquan look somewhere in the NFC East, other than the New York Giants?  I can see an NFC East team exploring that to see if they can make something happen with Saquan.  That would be something that would be really interesting."

The 27-year-old totaled 1,242 yards from scrimmage and 10 touchdowns last season.

Currently, the only backs on the Eagles roster with NFL experience is Kenneth Gainwell and Tyrion Davis-Price, who the team signed from SanFranciso.  Both Swift and Boston Scott are free agents.
