Philadelphia Eagles Lose Andy Wiedl to Pittsburgh Steelers
The Philadelphia Eagles front office is about to take another hit.
The Pittsburgh Steelers are set to hire Eagles' VP of Player Personnel Andy Weidl as their assistant GM per Aditi Kinkhabwala of CBS Sports, who confirms what we discussed with Adam Caplan of Inside The Birds, during Football at Four.
Weidl will be the fourth member of the Eagles front office to leave the team this offseason, joining, Ian Cunningham (Bears), Brandon Brown (Giants), and Catherine Raiche (Browns) in one offseason.
Wiedl will join the Steelers as an assistant GM to new GM Omar Khan, who replaces longtime GM Kevin Colbert.
He was one of six candidates who received a second interview with the Steelers
Wiedl joined the Eagles front office in 2016 and was a key part of helping to build the Eagles Super Bowl roster. He was promoted to director of player personnel in 2018.
He started his career in Pittsburgh back in 1998-1999 and is from the Pittsburgh area, in Mount Lebanon.
