The Philadelphia Eagles signed veteran tight end Dan Arnold to a one-year deal, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

The terms of the new deal were not disclosed.

The 6-foot-6, 240-pound tight end comes to Philadelphia after spending the past two seasons with the Jacksonville Jaguars. He is known more for his blocking ability than his pass catching prowess.

The tight end got his NFL start with the New Orleans Saints as an undrafted rookie free agent in 2018.

His best statistical year came in 2020 where he caught 31 passes for 438 yards and four touchdowns in 2020 with the Arizona Cardinals.

He caught 66 passes between 2020 and 2021 between three teams Arizona, Carolina and Jacksonville.

]Anderson will enter training camp as a candidate to backup Dallas Goedert.

Outside of Arnold and Goedert, the Eagles also have tight ends Jack Stoll, Grant Calcaterra, Tyree Jackson under contract.
