The Philadelphia Eagles have added a veteran to their secondary, signing former 49ers  safety Jaquiski Tartt.

The team announced the signing on Friday on social media.

Tartt, 30, has four interceptions and four sacks in 80 career games, all with the 49ers. He has struggled with injuries throughout his career, but has been a solid contributor when healthy and on the field for San Francisco.

Tartt started 14 games for the 49ers last year, making 65 tackles, with one pass defense and five tackles for loss for San Francisco.

Now he should at the very least push Marcus Epps for a starting role at safety, but will more likely serve as a third safety behind Epps and Anthony Harris.

The Eagles are pretty thin a safety behind Epps and Harris with former fourth-round pick K'Von Wallace as an option.

He was originally a second-round pick out of Samford back in 2015.
