Flyers Re-Sign Carl Grundstrom to 1-Year Deal

In the hours leading up to free agency, the Philadelphia Flyers made sure one of their better role players from a season ago didn’t make it to market.

The Flyers signed forward Carl Grundstrom to a one-year, $1 million deal, officially announced on Wednesday.

Grundstrom, 28, came to the Flyers from the San Jose Sharks, acquired in a trade on Oct. 5. Grundstrom was acquired along with defenseman Artem Guryev, who was not qualified by the Flyers just days ago and became an unrestricted free agent. The Flyers sent Ryan Ellis and a 2026 sixth-round pick to San Jose in the trade.

Grundstrom played in 47 games with the Flyers in the 2025-26 season. He scored nine goals and had 13 points. In three playoff games, Grundstrom had one assist.

Grundstrom was about to enter his second season with the Sharks when the trade took place. He had spent the first six seasons of his career with the Los Angeles Kings.
