Flyers Sign Grebenkin to 2-Year Deal

With the dog days of summer well underway, only two pieces of business remained for the Philadelphia Flyers. They had two restricted free agents still unsigned as the calendar turned to August.

One of those deals is done.

The Flyers re-signed forward Nikita Grebenkin to a two-year deal with a $1.1 million AAV.

Grebenkin, 23, was acquired by the Flyers in the Scott Laughton trade at the 2025 trade deadline. He spent the rest of the season in the AHL with the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, scoring three goals and seven points in 11 games. He also had a goal and four points in seven playoff games.

The 2025-26 season was Grebenkin’s first full season with the Flyers. He appeared in 55 games, scoring four goals and 14 points.

Grebenkin’s final game of the season was on March 21 against San Jose. He missed the final 13 games of the regular season and all of the playoffs with an injury.

Grebenkin’s deal leaves just one remaining restricted free agent for the Flyers. Defenseman Hunter McDonald, who made his NHL debut in the final game of the regular season, still needs a contract.
