Arbitration Dates Set for Drysdale, Zegras

Two of the key pieces of business left for the Philadelphia Flyers this offseason are new deals for both restricted free agents Trevor Zegras and Jamie Drysdale. Both will have a resolution soon enough.

Both players filed for arbitration last weekend, and now the pending dates for those arbitration hearings are set. Drysdale’s hearing is scheduled for July 20, one week from Monday when the arbitration hearing window opens. Zegras’ date is July 22.

The arbitration period in the NHL runs from July 20 to August 1.

The Flyers have until 9 AM on the date of both hearings to work out a deal with each player. Should either case reach a hearing, an arbitrator can only award one or two-year deals.

The Flyers have stated they would like to get longer-term deals completed with both players.

Drysdale, 24, was acquired by the Flyers in January 2024. In 24 games that season, Drysdale scored two goals and five points. In his first full season with the Flyers in 2024-25, Drysdale played in 70 games with seven goals and 20 points. Last season, Drysdale scored a career-high eight goals and tied his career-high with 32 points in 78 games.

Zegras, 25, was traded to the Flyers in the 2025 offseason. In his first season with the Flyers, Zegras set career-highs with 26 goals and 67 points in 81 games.

There is some speculation that the asking price from both players has increased in the wake of the Flyers’ offer sheet to Leo Carlsson. The Flyers tendered a record-setting offer sheet to Carlsson with an $18 million AAV, showing the extent at which they were willing to pay to acquire the player. Anaheim matched the offer sheet on Thursday.
