Super Bowl LV is a week away and the stage is set for the G.O.A.T, Tom Brady, to match up against one of the most prolific and dynamic quarterbacks in NFL history, Patrick Mahomes.  Right now, the Sixers lead the Eastern Conference with a 13-6 record after beating the reigning NBA Finals Champions Los Angeles Lakers in a close game on Wednesday Night.  Meanwhile, the Flyers find themselves looking for more consistent play from their defense as they get ready for the New York Islanders on Saturday Night, who eliminated them from the NHL Playoffs during the COVID-19 Summer Bubble.  Also, the Phillies resigned their All-Star Catcher JT Realmuto and added a couple of new arms to help their pitching staff like lefty Matt Moore.

But the top headlines continue to belong to the Eagles as they introduced their new Head Coach on Friday.  Nick Sirianni will have his work cut out for him as he starts his tenure with the Birds inheriting a Quarterback Controversy and an ageing roster at key positions.  Sirianni has already named several new coaches to his staff who should all bring a fresh approach as the Eagles move forward including one of the hottest coaching names in College Football to be the Quarterbacks Coach, Brian Johnson from the University of Florida, along with former Colts Defensive Backs Coach Jonathan Gannon hired to be the team's new Defensive Coordinator.

This Saturday in The Locker Room with Billy Schweim we will talk about all the news from the week. The Eagles, Flyers, Sixers and Phillies all warrant discussion!  We also will hear from a South Jersey native, former Paulsboro Red Raider and Temple Owl who played cornerback for the Kansas City Chiefs for ten years, Kevin Ross. Kevin is now the Cornerbacks Coach for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and is coaching in the Super Bowl!  Kevin will tell us about his football journey from South Jersey to the big game.

On Sunday in The Locker Room we will replay my interview with Kevin Ross and then we will talk with longtime respected journalist who covered the Eagles for 32 years with the Trenton Times Mark Eckel.  Mark has covered 11 Super Bowls and 4 Stanley Cup Finals.  Mark now authors stories for the Jerseyman and Phillyman Magazine.  Mark will give us his perspective on the Birds and talk about his career covering Philadelphia and National Sports.
