The Philadelphia Phillies on Saturday transferred injured first baseman Darick Hall to the 60-day injured list.

Additionally, the team claimed RHP Dylan Covey off waivers from the Dodgers.

Covey, who has pitched on one big league game this season for the Dodgers and had a 4.22 ERA and a 28 strikeouts in 32 innings as a starter in Triple-A.

Covey was designated for assignment earlier this week by the Dodgers and claimed by the Phillies and will likely step into the starting role vacated by Bailey Falter, who was sent to Triple-A on Tuesday.

 

Hall is estimated to be able to return sometime in June after undergoing surgery to repair a torn ligament in his right thumb back in April.

Hall of course was filling in for Rhys Hoskins, who is out for the season with a torn ACL, played in just six games this season and had just 18 at-bats. He hit .250 with nine home runs and 16 RBIs last season in 46 games with the team while Bryce Harper was out.

The team also added another bullpen arm, adding Yunior Marte from Lehigh anf sending Erich Uelmen back to Triple-A.
