The Philadelphia Phillies started their current home stand on a winning note by beating the Pittsburgh Pirates 5-1 behind a solid pitching performance for Ranger Suarez. The Phils' number three starter threw six scoreless innings while only allowing two hits and the Philadelphia "Day Care" supplied the runs.  Brandon Marsh and Bryson Stott hit home runs to get Philadelphia back above .500.

The Phillies will debut their new City Connect uniforms Friday night against the Pirates at Citizens Bank Park. This controversial new look will take some getting used to but the Phillies organization plans to wear them for every Friday home game of the 2024 Major League Season.  Tune into The Locker Room with Billy Schweim this Saturday and Sunday for details on how you can win City Connect Hats, Kyle Schwarber t-shirts, and the Grand prize will be a Bryce Harper City Connect Jersey

The Flyers ended their eight-game winless streak on Thursday night at Madison Square Garden against the New York Rangers, one of the best teams in the Eastern Confernece.  They now return home to face the New Jersey Devils on Saturday evening as the Orange and Black are still mathematically alive for the NHL Postseason.  We still have hope for the Flyers to make the playoffs but they need some other teams to lose in order to open the door for Philadelphia.

The Sixers are on a six-game winning streak and now 4-0 with Joel Embiid back on the court.  With two games remaining in the regular season, the 76ers are fighting to get our of the play-in tournament.  Currently, in the seventh spot in the Eastern Conference, the Sixers are playing the Orlando Magic on Friday Night while hoping some teams ahead of them lose this weekend.  But with a healthy Embiid playing close to midseason form, the Sixers can compete with anyone!

On Saturday’s show, Mike Carlin and Producer Nick Earnshaw join me in the studio.  We will be giving away the new City Connect swag to some of our lucky listeners.  You must tune into the show to find out how you can win.  City Connect Hats, Kyle Schwarber tee Shirts, and a grand prize is a Bryce Harper Jersey will be given away this weekend.  In Hour Two of the show, the Sports Book Consigliere Dave Sharapan checks from Las Vegas with his unique perspective on the weekend in sports.  Plus we will talk Flyers and Sixers throughout the show.
