Phillies Magic Number Is Nine while Eagles Prepare For Home Opener

The Phillies magic number is nine to win the National League East with 16 games to play in the regular season.  The Red Hot New York Mets come to town for a three game series this weekend and are trailing the Phillies by eight games in the NL East.

This is an important series for the Phillies and Aaron Nola, who has the third most Quality Starts in the National League (18), gets the ball Friday night.  Let's hope the Phillies fans make it difficult for Mets fans to invade The Bank.  We are hoping Kyle Schwarber and J.T Realmuto return to the lineup for this weekend or in time for the road trip next week.

The Philadelphia Eagles are 1-0 and return home to host the Atlanta Falcons on Monday Night Football.  Saquon Barkley had a monster game against the Packers, rushing for 109 yards on 24 carries and had a total of three touchdowns.  He was named NFC Player of the week for NFL Week One.

The Eagles defense needs to be better after surrendering 29 points to the Packers in Brazil.  Eagles Linebacker Zack Baum had an outstanding game registering 11 solo tackles and two sacks.  Head Coach Nick Sirianni is just the second head coach in Eagles history to win their first four season openers with the team.  We will cover it all this weekend in The Locker Room with Billy Schweim.
