The Philadelphia Phillies sent rookie pitcher Andrew Painter to Triple-A Lehigh on Wednesday, and on Thursday, they made some corresponding moves to replace him.

Fresh Arms Join the Phillies Bullpen

Johnson has pitched in 24 games for Lehigh Valley this season, exclusively in relief, and posted a 1.33 ERA (4 ER, 27.0 IP) with 40 strikeouts to 10 walks, a 1.00 WHIP and .172 opponents' batting average (17-99) while converting all six of his save opportunities.

Impact of the Latest Triple-A Call-ups

It will be interesting to see what the team does with Wilson, who has pitched in 12 games (11 starts) for the IronPigs this season. He could be used to help the bullpen or to make a few starts while Painter is in Triple-A, or the Phillies can find another option.

While he has pitched well over his last three starts, with a 13-inning scoreless streak, he has some rough numbers this season in Triple-A with a 6.29 ERA (38 ER, 54.1 IP) with 58 strikeouts to 21 walks.

Wilson does have plenty of Major League experience, with the Atlanta Braves (2018-21), Pittsburgh Pirates (2021-22), Milwaukee Brewers (2023-24), and Chicago White Sox (2025), going 20-23 with a 4.82 ERA (247 ER, 461.0 IP) and 333 strikeouts to 151 walks in 163 career major league games (57 starts).

Tanner Banks Sent to Lehigh Valley

Banks, 34, has pitched in 26 games (1 start) for the Phillies this season and has a 5.86 ERA (18 ER, 27.2 IP) with 31 strikeouts to 13 walks.
