
Phillies to Start Christopher Sanchez for Game 4 of NLCS vs. D-Backs
The Philadelphia Phillies will turn to lefty Cristopher Sanchez for Game 4 of the National League Championship Series against the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Sanchez has not appeared in any of the teams playoff games and last pitched on Sept. 30.
He had a solid season, making 18 starts, posting a 2.44 ERA and 1.05 WHIP.

Rob Thomson elected to go with Sanchez over Taijuan Walker who had a 4.38 ERA and 1.31 WHIP across 31 outings this season. He had 96 atrikeouts and just 16 walks across 99 1/3 innings (19 appearances, 18 starts).
Arizona will counter with a bullpen game, using left-handed reliever Joe Mantiply, who the Phillies saw in Game 2 in Philadelphia.
He posted a 4.62 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 28 strikeouts and nine walks across 39 innings (35 appearances, three starts) in 2023.
