Popular Cape May, NJ, restaurant named biggest tourist trap in New Jersey
One of our locally known restaurants has been named the biggest tourist trap in the entire state of New Jersey.
New Jersey is known for some great food and restaurants that tourist love to flock to when they vacation down the shore. The White House and Tony's Baltimore Grill are two places that come to mind in Atlantic City. But one Cape May County restaurant is getting some recognition as New Jersey's biggest "tourist trap."
The website Thrillist.com recently named their biggest tourist trap in every state and their search in New Jersey led them to The Lobster House in Cape May, 906 Schellengers Landing Rd, in Cape May.
How they measured this:
Using the number of times ‘tourist trap’ is mentioned in publicly available online travelers' reviews, we’ve discovered the biggest tourist traps in every country and each U.S. state.
The Lobster House is a very unique setting, overlooking Cape May Harbor in the Fisherman's Wharf section in historic Cape May.
Being names a tourist trap, means you are a place that everyone likes to visit. When I was in Dublin, people told me the Temple Bar section of town was a "tourist trap", but its where I had the most fun.
Other places top tourist traps include Pat's King of Steaks in Philadelphia. Over in Delaware, it was Crabby Dick's in Rehoboth Beach. It was Times Square in New York.
There are plenty of tourist attractions at the jersey shore, the Ocean City, Atlantic City and Wildwood boardwalks would fit the bill. Plenty of pizza and sandwich shops, but anyone local or from out of town should make The Lobster House a stop on their next trip to Cape May, its definitely worth it.
