Record Turnout For South Jersey Fundraiser Includes Jason Kelce Surprise
For almost 20 years, the Mike's Seafood Run-Walk for Autism has been raising money to support children and adults with special needs. The annual South Jersey charity event hosted in Sea Isle City is one of the primary draws for people visiting the popular shore town on President's Day Weekend.
The Mike's Seafood Run-Walk for Autism has used the money raised to help support the South Jersey community's efforts to help people with Special Needs. Most recently, Shore Medical Center announced they will be opening a new outpatient testing room for children and adults with ASD or other sensory needs thanks to the contributions of Mike's Seafood charity fundraising.
The 2025 edition of the Mike's Seafood Run-Walk for Autism set new records and a Philadelphia Eagles Legend made a surprise appearance on Saturday in Sea Isle City
Record Attendance and Money Raised at the 2025 Run-Walk For Autism
There were over 2,100 registered and over 4,500 attendees at the 2025 Mike's Seafood Run-Walk for Autism on February 15th. That is the most people who have ever participated in the annual fundraiser in Sea Isle City.
For the second straight year, Philadelphia Eagles Legend and future Pro Football Hall of Famer Jason Kelce made a surprise appearance at the Run-Walk for Autism. Kelce and his wife, Kylie, own a beach house in Sea Isle City and are frequent customers to Mike's Seafood on Park Road.
I spoke with Mike Monachetti after Saturday's event about the record turnout and Jason Kelce's support:
"I was concerned about the turnout this year because the Eagles (Super Bowl Victory) Parade was on Friday and many people who are (Eagles fans) come down to Sea Isle City. We are just blessed to have this incredible turnout and on top of that, it was great for Jason (Kelce) and his wife (Kylie) to participate as walkers. I know how passionate Jason is about (raising money for Autism) and Kylie is one of our best customers at Mike's Seafood each summer."
Even more good news on Saturday was that the forecast of rain held off until an hour after the Mike's Seafood Run-Walk for Autism finished. By the time the cold rain began to fall Saturday afternoon, most people had already left Excursion Park in Sea Isle City.
For the second time in eight months, Jason Kelce has been in Sea Isle City for a record-breaking charity event. Jason and Kylie Kelce's annual Team 62 Fundraising event raised almost one million dollars in June 2024. Here are some of the highlights from last summer's event in Sea Isle City:
