According to ESPN's Chris Broussard, Allen Iverson has set a date to officially announce his retirement.

Allen Iverson will officially announce his NBA retirement at the Sixers home opener against the Miami Heat on October 30th.

The report came in the midst of the Sixers getting blown out in Charlotte against the Bobcats.

Iverson was last scene in a Sixers uniform in February of 2010, the team parted ways shortly after and Iverson headed to Turkey in 2011 to play professional basketball.

Recently, Iverson has been in the news for bankruptcy and family drama, but will certainly receive a standing ovation at the Wells Fargo Center on October 30th.
