Report: Jalen Hurts ‘Very Well May Be Out’ vs Jets
It appears Philadelphia is about to get a taste of Minshew Mania.
According to veteran Eagles reporter Derek Gunn, Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts will miss the game with an injured ankle and third-year quarterback Gardner Minshew will get the start against the Jets on Sunday.
Meanwhile, ESPN's Adam Schefter says the Eagles aren't quiet ready to rule him out, but says it very well may be the case, wanting to see how he feels on gameday.
Hurts was injured during the game last week against the Giants, and had his worst game of the season, passing for just 129 yards while throwing three interceptions.
He was limping off the field after the game, but said earlier this week that he would be ready to play. However, head coach Nick Sirianni had a different reaction, saying he wasnt sure if Hurts would be ready.
"Yeah, a lot of parties at play there to make sure we do what's best for Jalen and his body and, obviously, the team," Sirianni said Friday.
"But player health is the first and foremost most important thing. So, there will be a lot of discussions with the trainers, the doctors, we got to listen to Jalen [Hurts] on how his body feels."
Minshew was aquired from Jacksonville right before the season and had a solid season for the Jags. Last year, Minshew completed 66.1 percent of his passes and threw 16 touchdowns and 11 interceptions for the Jaguars.
"I feel confident with either guy – either of the guys if they have to go play the way they prepared all week and went about their business," Sirianni stated.
Sounds like we're about to find out what Minshew Mania is all about.
