During his press conference this week, Eagles safety Malcolm Jenkins told reporters that he'd like to see Walter Thurmond return to the defensive backfield next season.

It doesnt look like that will happen without a fight.

According to a report, the Eagles do not feel like they will be able to get a deal done with the safety in the exclusive negotiating window.

A deal would have to get done with Thurmond before March 9th, or else the Eagles safety would hit the free agent market and be free to negotiate with 31 other NFL teams.

Les Bowen also points out that could be Thurmond and his representatives would like to do anyway to see what kind of value he has.

Thurmond finished the season with 52 tackles and three interceptions. He also had a fumble recovery returned for a touchdown.
