Rockets interviewed Wildwood, NJ, native Frank Vogel for opening
After sitting the 2022-2023 season out, Wildwood high school alum, Frank Vogel could be back in the NBA next season.
Vogel is a candidate for the vacant Houston Rockets job according to Kelly Iko of The Athletic.
The 1991 Wildwood high grad, last coached with the Los Angeles Lakers during the 2021-22 season, and won a NBA title as the Lakers head coach in 2020.
Vogel has been a NBA head coach with the Pacers, Magic and Lakers.. He was an assistant coach with the Celtics, Sixers and Pacers before becoming Indiana's head coach back in 2011.
In 814 games, Vogel is 431-389 and 49-39 in the playoffs. He won an NBA title and lost in the Eastern Conference Finals twice with the Pacers.
Sixers assistant Sam Cassell is also a candidate for the Rockets opening.
