Saquon Barkley Making History in an Eagles Uniform this Season

Since signing a three-year contract worth up to $37.75 million back in March, Saquon Barkley has become one of the most popular athletes in Philadelphia.

Aside from his incredible athletic play in the Eagles' win over the Jaguars on November 3rd, Barkley has proven to be worth the money all season. He is Top Ten in the NFL in the following statistical categories:

Even though the Eagles Running Back is considered a long shot to win the NFL MVP Award this season, Saquon Barkley is still receiving recognition for his elite level of play this season.

For the third time in the 2024 NFL season, Saquon Barkley has been awarded the NFC Offensive Player of the Week.  The Eagles' Running Back has 199 Total Yards from Scrimmage yards (159 rushing, 40 receiving) and scored both a Receiving and Rushing Touchdown in the win over the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Barkley becomes only the second Eagles player in Franchise History to win NFC Offensive Player of the Week three times in one season. Quarterback Michael Vick won the award three times during the 2010 NFL season.

The Eagles Running Back is almost making NFL History will his play during the 2024 season. Barkley is only the second player with at least 110 scrimmage yards in seven of his first eight games since Pro Football Hall of Famer Eric Dickerson in 1983 with the Los Angeles Rams.

With 925 Rushing Yards this season, Barkley only needs 76 more rush yards to become the 11th Running Back with at least 1,000 Rushing Yards in a single season.  Also, Saquon only needs 345 Rushing Yards for the rest of the 2024 season to reach Top Ten Mosh Rushing Yards in a Single season in Eagles History.
