Schefter: ‘Brian Johnson will be at the top of teams list’
The Philadelphia Eagles lost both of their coordinators after their run to the Super Bowl and they could lose another one after this season according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Schefter said as a guest on the Pat McAfee Show that Eagles offensive coordinator Brian Johnson will be at the top of teams list of heading coaching jobs this offseason.
Johnson has led an Eagles offense that is third in the NFL scoring 28.2 points per game and is ninth in the league with 364 yards per game.
Johnson, who has been on the Eagles staff since 2021 was the team's quarterback coach last season and was elevated to offensive coordinator after Shane Steichen left to become the Colts head coach. Last season Steichen led an Eagles offense that finished second in the league in points and third in offensive yards.
While fans have questioned Johnson, others, including ESPN's Dan Orlovsky, have been impressed with his ability to adjust in-game.
Johnson has interviewed for offensive coordinator jobs in Carolina and Baltimore before landing the job in Philadelphia when Steichen left, in part because of his relationship with Jalen Hurts, a relationship that dates back to Hurts’ childhood.
