South Jersey Beach Patrol Races Plus Phillies Back In Action

Every year during the summer season, the South Jersey Beach Patrols compete in races leading up to the South Jersey Lifeguard Championships.  On Friday, August 9th, Beach Patrols from Brigantine to Cape May Point will be competing for Lifeguard supremacy this summer. 

Friday, July 19th there are two big Lifeguard races that you can attend and see exciting competition among great athletes!  First up, the David R. Kerr Memorials that start on the beach in Avalon at 6:15 pm with patrols competing from Upper Twp to Cape May.  The Atlantic City Classic will be held at the Albany Avenue beach at 6:30 pm.  There will be six events in this year’s classic and The Locker Room with Billy Schweim will have all the results and interviews with the winners from both races. 

The Philadelphia Phillies return to play after the MLB All-Star Break as they travel to Pittsburgh to take on the Pirates.  The Pirates are currently 1.5 Games out of the final Wild Card Spot in the National League with a 48-48 record.  Aaron Nola takes the mound for the Phillies, the best team in Baseball.

The Eagles open up Training Camp this Tuesday and there is a lot to talk about with Birds heading into the 2024 NFL season: New Offensive and Defensive Coordinators, plus the addition of Running Back Saquon Barkley and an overhauled Linebacker group!

Plus not only do the NFL training camps open up, but so do most colleges.  Rowan University in June named the Eighth Head Coach in school history, Pat Ruley.  Ruley is a Prof’s alumni who was previously the Defensive Coordinator at Susquehanna University and he will check in with The Locker Room on Saturday’s show. 

On Saturday’s show, Mr. Everything Josh Hennig is back as Producer, and former Kansas City Chiefs Wide Receiver Dave Klemic, will join me in the studio.  We will talk Phillies baseball and the state of the team coming out of the All-Star Break.  In Hour One, we will hear from the New Head Coach of the Rowan University Football team Pat Ruley about the Profs 2024 season and the future for the football program.

In Hour Two, we will talk with the Boxing Promoter for next Friday’s big fight card at the Tropicana Atlantic City Showroom, Larry Goldberg.  Finally, it’s The Beach Patrol Report brought to you by McCann Realtors of Sea Isle City and the Ocean City Beach Patrol Lifeguard Alumni Association.  This week we will have all the results and interviews from both the Kerr Memorial and Atlantic City Classic Lifeguard races.

In Hour Two, Mr. Atlantic City Boxer, Undefeated Junior Middleweight Justin Figueroa will stop by the studio to talk about his upcoming fight at the Tropicana on Friday, July 26th.
