Two South Jersey Dominican restaurants have been named to a list of the 13 best Dominican restaurants in New Jersey.

Folks love some authentic Dominican food, which generally features rice, beans, plantains, and a variety of meats or seafood, and a ton of flavor.

There are plenty of great options in South Jersey, but two stood out to NJ.com writers Christopher Burch, Lauren Musni, and Saleah Blancaflor, who compiled the list.

Being included on this list, with only 13 restaurants, shows how good these two places are.

Cafe Nitido, Audubon

They just opened this past fall but have already made quite an impression on the community. Customers will love their fried pork chops ($28) topped with bell peppers and onion served with a side of rice with beans. Their huge dining room is also great for large parties.

Hours and Location Details

Cafe Nitido is located at 107 W Merchant St in Audubon and is open
Wednesday (11a-8p), Thursday (11a-9p), Friday & Saturday (9:30a-10p), and Sunday (9:30a-7 p.m). They are closed on Monday and Tuesday. They specialize in empanadas, mofongo, and you must try their crème brûlée.

The second restaurant that made the list is Arelis in Camden, which serves Dominican specialties for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Arelis Restaurant, Camden

The Camden staple is popular for its pepper and onion steak, pollo guisado, pernil, mofongo and other classic dishes. Friendly staff and colorful decor create a warm ambiance, making it a well-known lunch stop for many workers in the city. Make sure to grab a beef pastelito on your trip to Arelis.

Hours and Location Details

Arelis is at 2198 River Ave in Camden and is open Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday from 9 a.m. til 9 p.m.
