One of the most debated topics for decades has been the state of Education, especially in states like New Jersey, one of the top five states in total average spending per K-12 Pupil.

While on the surface this would be considered by some people to be a good thing, the issue that gets aggressively debated is what that funding is being spent on.  New Jersey Teachers are paid higher wages on average than 80 percent of the United States, while the average salary for a NJ School Superintendent ($203,000) is significantly higher than the National Average for the same school administrative position ($131,000).

But only 53 percent of New Jersey Students are proficient in English and Reading across grades 3 through 8, and just 41 percent of these students are proficient in mathematics. These numbers are well below what proficiency scores were for NJ Students 20 years ago.
