Atlanta Braves

Kevin McAlpin, 680 The Fan called in to talk about the Atlanta Braves who are currently in first place in the NL East and are 6 games ahead of the Washington Nationals. McAlpin expects the Braves to be buyers at the July 31st trading deadline, and updated us on the injury situation surrounding BJ Upton, Justin Upton and Freddie Freeman. Follow McAlpin on Twitter.

Washington Nationals

Dave Jageler, Nationals Radio Network called in to talk about the Nationals second half run. Jags said that the Nationals are content with their batting order and how the lineup has taken shape. But Jageler said that the pitching rotation, the back end especially, is a concern. Danny Haren has not lived up to expectations and if the Nationals were to make a move or two at the deadline it would be for rotation help.

Matt Hammond

Our Phillies insider Matt Hammond called in to talk about the all important, season deciding 9-game road trip for the Phillies beginning tonight in New York. Hammond talked about the bullpen that is now without Michael Stutes and Jeremy Horst for perhaps the rest of the season. Hammond also gets into the progress of Ryan Howard after his surgery and how Darin Ruf has been fairing playing everyday. Follow Hammond on Twitter.
