"The Sportsbash" was all over the Flyers signing of former Lightning captain Vinny Lecavalier, who was recently bought out by the team making him the hottest commodity on the free agent market. The Flyers signed Lecavalier to a 5-year $22.5 million contract on Tuesday night, the deal cant be official until the start of free agency on Friday.

Received three different takes on the deal:

Rick Tocchet

CSN Philadelphia and former Lightning head coach Rick Tocchet called in to give his opinion on the contract and admittedly Tocchet was uncertain, rather would like to see an upgrade on defense and another goaltender.

Dave Isaac

Our Flyers insider talked with Mike Gill about the signing and told him that he knew something was in the works at the draft in Newark this past weekend when he saw Paul Holmgren working the phones as well as the meeting the Flyers fielded with Lecavalier. Follow Isaac on Twitter.

Matt Sammon

Went down to Tampa to get a firsthand perspective on Lecavalier and find out why the captain was bought out by his only NHL team. Sammon is a member of the Lightning Radio Network and said he still believes Lecavalier has a few good seasons left in the tank. Follow Samman on Twitter.
