Yes, according to data from NielsenIQ and reporting by Forbes, the Margarita is the number one best-selling adult cocktail in the United States.  A 2023 Drizzly survey revealed that 22 percent of Americans say that the Margarita is their go-to cocktail.

So if the Margarita is the most popular adult cocktail in the US, what are Americans' favorite Margaritas? The research team at Casino.org utilized Google Trends to identify what are the most popular Margarita choices in each state.

What is New Jersey's Margarita of Choice and Why It's Different than Most Americans

The result of Casino.org research is the most popular Margarita of choice in the United States is the Skinny Margarita. This is the go-to cocktail for a third of Americans while 20 percent of US citizens prefer the Classic Margarita.

But New Jersey has to be different. The go-to Margarita for The Garden State is the Frozen Mango. NJ is one of only four states whose favorite margaritas are the Frozen Variety and only New Jersey says their favorite is Frozen Mango Margaritas.

Overall, eight percent of Americans go to adult cocktails is Frozen Margaritas. New Jersey is joined by their neighbors in Pennsylvania (Frozen Strawberry Margarita) and Delaware (Regular Frozen Margarita) as the people who chose Frozen Ritas.

Considering so many Pennsylvania residents vacation in New Jersey and Delaware, that would explain why these three states have similar favorite adult cocktails. Also, who doesn't enjoy a frozen drink on a hot summer day?
