CAL playoffs

Atlantic City, the No. 3 seed in the CAL Tournament, started the game with a 12-0 run, and never trailed.

The Mustangs (18-5), the 2018 tournament champion, advance to Saturday’s noon final at Stockton University against Atlantic City, a 40-33 winner over No. 2 seed Ocean City in the other semifinal.

Now, the defending champion Crusaders get a chance to pick up their third straight CAL title if they can get past St. Augustine Prep on Saturday.

The upstart Mustangs, the No. 3 seed in the tournament, jumped out to a 17-9 lead after one quarter, but St. Augustine used a 22-0 run to an easy victory over Mainland.

The CAL boys' playoffs are down to the Final Four, with the No. 2 seeded St. Augustine Prep Hermits (20-4) trying to advance to the championship game by knocking off the fourth seeded Mainland Mustangs (18-6) at Absegami high school.

Mainland, the No. 3 seed in the tournament, takes on No. 2 St. Augustine Prep, a 78-57 winner over Pleasantville, in the semifinals on Wednesday at 5 p.m. at Absegami High School.

The Mustangs earn a date against No. 1 seed Wildwood Catholic in Thursday night’s semifinals at Ocean City High School at 5 p.m.
