Sanheim Nets OT Winner as Flyers Defeat Bruins
Travis Sanheim delivered, with the help of Patrice Bergeron going down as Sanheim moved in on a counter-rush. Sanheim scored on Dan Vladar to give the Flyers a 3-2 overtime win, the team's first over the Bruins this season, on Monday night in Boston.
Flyers 5: Takeaways from Sunday’s Flyers-Bruins Game
While it may have been an expected result given the circumstances, there were things on display where the lineup didn’t really matter. The Bruins have had the Flyers number all season. So has David Pastrnak. That wasn’t changing no matter who was on the ice.
Hart Pulled After Bruins 4-Goal 2nd in Rout of Flyers
With a shorthanded lineup once again, the Bruins got another late second-period goal that started the unraveling. This time, it didn't even take until the third. Three goals for the Bruins in 1:39 capped off a four-goal period, as the Flyers were routed in the outdoor game at Lake Tahoe by a score of 7-3 on Sunday night.
Bruins Hand Flyers Another Ugly Loss
Saturday's game in Boston further exposed the Flyers flaws. The Bruins struck for the first goal of the game in the first and out-shot the Flyers, 10-4, in the opening period. A late second-period goal put the Bruins up by two, then everything unraveled again, as the Flyers were routed for the second time this week, losing 6-1.
Flyers 5: Takeaways from Thursday’s Flyers-Bruins Game
The Flyers managed to get a point in Thursday’s game with a late power-play goal that tied things up and forced overtime and the eventual shootout, but it is a relatively lucky point for the Flyers to earn, given how the game played out. It could have easily been two points...and it could have easily been no points. Five takeaways from Thursday's shootout loss to the Bruins.
Flyers Lose Lead, Fall to Bruins in Shootout
The Flyers took a 2-0 lead to the third and gave it all back in a span of 2:06. Two Bruins goals tied the game early in the third, starting a frantic back-and-forth scoring barrage. Ultimately, the game was capped off with a shootout, and the Flyers couldn't find a way to score while the Bruins got the only goal necessary, winning the game, 5-4.
