Domonic Brown is moving north of the border.
The former Philadelphia Phillies All-Star has signed a minor league deal with the Toronto Blue Jays, per a team announcement. The contract also includes an invite to Spring Training in Dunedin, FL.
A week ago the Phillies removed their former top prospect and the former top overall prospect in all of baseball, Domonic Brown from the 40-man roster, sending him to Triple-A Lehigh Valley.
According to Jeff Passan of Yahoo Sports who hears from a source that the Phillies are actively shopping outfielder Domonic Brown.
In the report, he says the Phillies are looking to acquire controllable young pitching in exchange for Brown.
On Tuesday, a team that spoke to the Phillies about Brown informed ESPN's Jayson Stark that Philadelphia doesn't sound enthused about the idea of moving Brown

Domonic Brown will begin a rehab assignment Monday at Low-A Lakewood. Brown has been sidelined since July 23, when he suffered a concussion while diving for a ball.
