The Rangers capitalized in transition and on cross-ice passes in a 6-3 victory over the Flyers.

The Rangers opened the scoring at 10:20 of the first and never looked back in a 4-0 decision over the Flyers at Wells Fargo Center.

It wasn't a result that was as out-of-hand as the others recently, but it was a defeat all the same, as the Flyers took the loss for the seventh straight game, 4-1, to the Rangers.

After allowing the first two goals of the game to put themselves in another hole, the Flyers gave up another goal in the first two minutes of the second period. The game was essentially over right then and there, because the 18 minutes that followed were not just the worst the Flyers have played this season, they were historically bad.

Wednesday's game was rock bottom, one of the most embarrassing efforts in Flyers history. After falling behind 2-0 in the first, the Flyers allowed seven goals to the Rangers in the second. You read that right: seven. A touchdown. That's how things got to the final score in a 9-0 shellacking.

The Flyers announced on Friday that they have re-signed forward Scott Laughton to a two-year deal with an average annual value of $2.3 million. With the deal, Laughton and the Flyers avoid arbitration. A hearing was scheduled for July 30.

Could more trades be on the way for the Flyers? There are some players out there that are popular among trade rumors that the Flyers could certainly look to pursue.

The Flyers season is over, and it sets up for an interesting offseason for GM Chuck Fletcher, one that begins now that the season is over and will carry over throughout the summer and as the 2019-20 season approaches.
