The Flyers are back on home ice on Saturday night, looking to bounce back against the Ottawa Senators at 7 p.m.

A pair of comeback attempts were not completed, as the Columbus Blue Jackets scored on a 3-on-1 in overtime to hand the Flyers a 5-4 loss on Tuesday night.

Columbus jumped out to a 3-0 lead early in the second, and that was enough to hang on until two empty-net goals late sealed a 5-2 loss for the Flyers.

On Thursday night, the Flyers hit the road to face another team at the bottom of the standings and locked into a lengthy losing streak. The Columbus Blue Jackets have lost five straight games dating back to Oct. 23, including both games in their trip to Finland last weekend.

Even after his worst playoff appearance in Game 2, Carter Hart responded with the same mentality that got him to the NHL. “It’s a good thing that he’s a little too oblivious to some things as a goalie in Philadelphia,” Jake Voracek said.

Over at ESPN.com, Greg Wyshynski posed the biggest question for each of the 24 teams in the playoffs. The Flyers one is quite intriguing. Are these games following the pause, to be played in neutral hub cities, away games for Carter Hart?

When the dust settled from Tuesday’s game against the Columbus Blue Jackets, the scoreboard read 5-1 in favor of the Flyers. It hardly felt like a game that the Flyers had won by four goals in rather convincing fashion. 

Travis Konecny will be the Flyers representative at the NHL All-Star Game on Saturday, Jan. 25. It will be his first career All-Star Game appearance.
